07:44 pm: another horrifying thought is
Back when I first saw the neurologists ten years ago, they thought that I was getting medication overuse headaches (aka rebound headaches). Back then I was only taking the painkillers because of the headaches. Nowadays I'm also taking them to deal with joint pain. What if I have to choose between medicating the joint pain and not provoking the headaches?
Of course, thinking this is not helpful for my stress levels. Which are also a contributory factor.
Why can't I turn my stupid brain off?

1. can we take this discussion somewhere else - come to my journal not abbi's
2. lots of serious biologists and anthroplogists do accept the model.. Their is lots of good evidence for it, and lots of the man the hunter argument has been repeatedly falsified. I simply will not accept the idea that the strange characteristics of humans can all be explained because of 'sexual attraction' when their is a much better explanation available. 'sexual attraction' is woolly hand-waving bad science.
3. The whole of the geological community completely poo-poo'd the idea of plate techtonics and refused for years for any evidence to be published in any physiological journal. Information about it took years to get any sort of foothold because it was so utterly condemned as lies and garbage
4. i can give you tons of example of just this sort of paradigm bashing, where one paradigm challenges another paradigm - I can do this because I'm a historian of science
